Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Talk Rightly ("Talk Rightly", "we", "us"), a business operating from India, for your use of talkrightly.com and the Talk Rightly rehearsal service (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter a binding contract. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these Terms.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Tell us promptly at hello@talkrightly.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person per account. Accounts may not be shared or resold.
3. What the Service does and does not do
Talk Rightly is a practice tool. It scores rehearsed speech using automated analysis of your transcript and measured audio signals. Scores and suggestions are educational feedback, not professional, career, legal, medical or psychological advice, and we do not guarantee any outcome in a meeting, interview, promotion or negotiation. Automated scoring can be wrong; use your own judgment.
4. Supported browsers
Live speech evaluation relies on the browser speech recognition feature available in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on desktop. Other browsers are not supported, and we do not offer manual review of recordings. Please check that your browser, camera and microphone work with a free drill before you buy.
5. Plans, credits and billing
- Free: 3 full drills at no cost, no card required.
- Pro: a subscription billed every 30 days from the date you subscribe (not per calendar month). Each paid 30-day cycle adds 30 credits. Unused credits roll over, but your balance from Pro renewals will not grow beyond 90 credits.
- Credit Packs: one-time purchases of credits. Pack credits do not expire while your account is open.
- One credit equals one complete drill rehearsal with full scoring and Take 2 corrections. A credit is used when a drill is completed.
- Credits have no cash value, are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for money, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Prices are shown in US dollars at checkout. Taxes such as GST or VAT may apply and are calculated at checkout.
6. Payments through Dodo Payments
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our merchant of record and payment processor. Your purchase is also subject to Dodo Payments' terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your full card details.
7. Renewal and cancellation
- Pro renews automatically every 30 days until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep Pro access until the end of the paid 30-day cycle.
- Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the current cycle, except as set out below.
8. Refunds
Because credits deliver digital content immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable once any credit from that purchase has been used. You may request a full refund within 7 days of a purchase if no credits from it have been used, by writing to hello@talkrightly.com. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or withdrawal right you have under the mandatory consumer law of your country, including the EU, UK or India. Duplicate or erroneous charges are always refunded.
9. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse, reverse engineer, scrape, overload or attempt to bypass limits, payments or security of the Service.
- Do not use the Service to create unlawful, abusive or infringing content, or to impersonate others.
- Do not resell or commercially redistribute drills, scripts or scores without written permission.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, drills, scripts, rubric, software, logos and design belong to Talk Rightly or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own practice. What you say during a rehearsal remains yours.
11. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us, or if required by law. Where termination is not caused by your breach, we will refund unused paid credits on a pro-rata basis.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Talk Rightly will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, opportunity, reputation or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose, or USD 50, whichever is higher. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Talk Rightly against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
14A. Cookies and advertising
We use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy. Analytics and marketing cookies, including from Google and Meta, run only with your consent, which you can change at any time through "Cookie Preferences" in the site footer. Declining them does not limit your use of the Service.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts at New Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service. Before filing a claim, both parties will try in good faith to resolve the dispute by email for 30 days.
If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts or to rely on mandatory local consumer protections, nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.
17. Grievance officer and contact
In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, complaints about the Service or content may be sent to our Grievance Officer at hello@talkrightly.com. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
18. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger or sale of the business.
